Montana’s problem isn’t for government to solve. Or for people with inherently dangerous jobs to solve. Or for business owners to solve. It is for all of us to solve. That means, you have a responsibility day in and day out to work safely, encourage safety and look for ways to make your workplace safer.

In this section, you’ll find valuable information on rights and training. These are areas you should know well whether you’re an owner, supervisor or employee. Beyond that, you have a role in being mindful about your own personal safety by doing little things that make a big difference—lifting correctly, wearing appropriate protective gear, checking equipment and tools before using them, setting up your workstation ergonomically, reporting safety concerns and getting involved with your safety committee and program.

Because the only way we improve our safety record is by understanding our role and meeting our responsibility.
